BIM CAD - Revit Technologist

The Position

You are an experienced BIM Technologist with a strong competency in AutoCAD and Revit software. This is NOT your first time working as a BIM Technologist. You are an engaging person who can connect with people and able to work independently and as a key member of the Design Team. You are organized, you can work independently, you are solutions-oriented, open to new challenges, and adaptable to change. You have excellent technical skills and are comfortable having the designers of our company depend on you to take charge and get the technical drawings prepared in a qualified, on-time and on-budget manner. You report directly to the Lead Designer and work in a peer relationship with other design team staff and outsourced suppliers.

Here's What You'll Be Doing On The Team…

Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to support the growth of the company's design team, working in a multi-disciplinary environment, by providing technical services to the Design Team project master plans, 3D modeling, and production of fabrication and installation drawings and specifications so that our client’s dreams are fulfilled. You will also ...

  • Visit project sites to take measurements of existing conditions and/or confirm dimensions and also inspect ongoing works. 

  • Consult with the Design Team to establish the overall look, graphic elements and content of communications materials in order to meet the company’s needs.

  • Produce technical drawings under the direction of the lead designer, including.

    • Preparation of project base plans of existing conditions of information gathered in site visits or from architectural or engineering drawings 

    • Transcribe designers hand drew concept plans or preliminary sketches to create design concept drawings. 

    • Generate 3D models using AutoCAD - Revit and other software to create pre-visualization models for the installation animations of balcony and terrace gardens.

    • Preparation of fabrication and installation work - construction drawings, miscellaneous details, related schedules, shop drawings and as-built drawings.

    • Ensure all drawings and deliverables are checked to comply with project and company quality standards. 

    • Ensure projects adhere to technical frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.

    • Update library of construction details and Revit model families

  • Calculate quantity take-offs of material.

  • Maintain and monitor project plans and your work schedules.

  • Attend and participate in team meetings 

  • Ensure project technical services deadlines are met

  • Collaborate with the designer to develop project modeling strategies

  • Coordinate work with the design team and other structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines. 

  • Take responsibility for the timely completion of deliverables.

Required Experience & Qualifications …

  • Diploma or degree in Building Information Modeling Technology - a bonus

  • Minimum five years of experience and in-depth working knowledge of CAD / Revit 

  • Proficient in the latest versions of AutoCAD and Revit/BIM is a must; experience with Lumion or equivalent, Sketchup; working knowledge of Photoshop is a plus

  • Organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented

  • An understanding of millwork, manufacturing, and product development experience is a plus.

  • Problem-solving skills 

  • Able to create technical documents and present reports 

  • Self-directed, able to work independently and collaborate as part of a team

  • Have a valid driver's licence
